CourseApp™ by Best Approach
The adoption and proliferation of smartphones and related applications, or “apps” as they are more commonly known, has created a huge opportunity for golf courses to market and promote their facility. Best Approach has launched a program whereby courses can leverage their investment in media (yardage guides, flyovers, etc.) and turn that investment into a dynamic mobile application. We have developed templates for both iPhone and Droid applications that combine your existing yardage guide and/or flyovers along with additional course information, tee time booking, notifications, event scoring, social media, food & beverage, promotions and much more, all into one mobile application. GPS Enabled Yardage Guide
CourseApp™ includes a GPS Enabled Yardage Guide. Users can view an Accurate 3D graphic and flyover of each hole and get precise yardage to the front, middle and back of the green from wherever they may be on the course. Users can zoom in on the graphic to view more detail and a simple swipe takes them to the next hole.
CourseFlight 3D Flyovers
CourseApp™ can include CourseFlight™ Animated Flyovers. Users simply rotate the phone left or right while viewing the yardage guide and a flyover begins playing. Flyovers allow the user to visualize the hole and gain an appreciation of the terrain and golf features. Click the play button on the left to view a sample flyover.
Tee Time Booking
CourseApp™ integrates with your online tee time provider. Users can book tee times as they would online from directly within the app. Courses that do not have a mobile friendly online tee time provider can provide a phone number that users can call directly from the app.
Live Scoring & Leaderboard
CourseApp™ supports live scoring and leaderboards. Courses can easily setup an event using our tournament website and golfers can enter scores in realtime directly from the app. The app supports Stroke play, Match play, Stableford and skins formats. Multi-round events can also be scored and the app supports sponsored ads and real-time alerts and messages. Leaderboards can be viewed within the app and shared with family and friends over the web or displayed on a big screen in the clubhouse. Golfers can also use the app to score up to five players in a casual round.
Food & Beverage
CourseApp™ Connection Suite includes a Food & Beverage Menu which allows an administrator to add and delete items, update prices, and change descriptions all from an easy to use website.
Promotional Items
CourseApp™ Connection Suite includes a Promotional Item Area which allows an administrator to add and delete items, update prices, and change descriptions all from an easy to use website. Items can include merchandise, special promotions, etc.
Events
CourseApp™ Connection Suite includes an Event Manager which allows an administrator to add and delete events, update events, and change event descriptions and dates all from an easy to use website.
Local Weather
CourseApp™ includes a local weather forecast. Users can view current weather conditions as well as a forecast for the next three days. Temperatures can be provided in either Farenheit or Celcius.
Photo Gallery
CourseApp™ includes a Photo Gallery that allows users to take their own photos and share the course photos via email, Facebook and Twitter.
Push Notifications
CourseApp™ Connection Suite includes Push Notifications. A course administrator can send push notifications to all app users. Notifications can include timely course announcements, specials/promotions and virtually any message you wish to send to your users. Notifications are managed and sent from an easy to use website.
Contact & Social Media
CourseApp™ includes contact information such as email, phone and website as well as embedded Twitter Feeds and Facebook pages.
Location & Directions
CourseApp™ includes location and direction information. Users can view the location of the course and find directions from their current location.
Course Information
CourseApp™ includes a course information page where the user can discover general facts and information about the property.

How to Get Started
If you are a current Best Approach customer, we will use your current yardage guide graphics, CourseFlight™ animated flyovers and GPS data to build your App(s). We will gather the Course Description and Contact information from your website. The course must provide the website URL to which the Tee Times section of your app will be linked. That’s all we need to get started.
After the app has been designed, you will receive screen shots of the iPhone app for your approval. When you have approved them, the app will be submitted to iTunes and/or the Android Market. Once the apps are live, you will be sent details about how to add promotional links to your website as well as a digital version of a promotional page which can be printed and displayed in the golf shop.
