Photos for Vistas

CourseFlight ™ 3D flyovers often incorporate background vistas to give the viewer a true picture of the golf setting.  To incorporate background vistas we require a good quality digital photograph of the scenic background.  This photo can be taken by golf course personnel with a consumer grade digital camera.  The camera should be at least a 3 Megapixel camera and the photos should be a minimum of 1900x1200 pixels in size.

The image on the right illustrates the correct location for taking a vista photograph.  Notice that the camera is about 150-200 yards from the green and the camera is pointed directly at the center of the green.  This is very important.  Do not point the camera left or right; aim directly at the center of the green and keep the camera level.  Do not tilt the camera up or down.

On a golf hole with a significant dogleg we require two photographs.  One for the vista behind the landing area and one for the vista behind the green.  The image on the right illustrates the correct locations for taking these vista photographs.  Notice that the first  photo is showing the scenery behind the landing area and the second photo shows the area behind the green.  The same rules apply:  Do not point the camera left or right; aim directly at the center of the green or landing area and keep the camera level.  Do not tilt the camera up or down.
